So you’re looking to start your health journey–lose weight, get more active, eat better–but not sure where to start? We tend to think of weight loss as some monumental shift in our lives, and it’s not! Weight loss, just like any lifestyle shift, happens through these little baby steps of change. Here’s a sampling of steps that you can take right now to start that process:

  • Walk for 30 minutes
  • Drink a bottled water at lunch
  • Make breakfast using whole foods (bacon, eggs, fruit)
  • Make dinner at home instead of going to a restaurant
  • Join the gym down the street
  • Try a 10-minute workout from Pinterest
  • Join a friend at Zumba class
  • Plank for 60 seconds (break it up however you need)
  • Make tomorrow’s meals the night before (meal prep)
  • Set a goal, and plan a week’s worth of activities
  • Find your accountability partner and take a walk daily
  • Set your 90 day health goals using the SMART approach
  • Cut out one junk food item from your life (do this once per week)
  • Park at the far end of the parking lot for extra steps to the building
  • Replace one soda per day with bottled water
  • Prepare your snacks for today: veggies, fruit and almonds work well
  • Get up and move for 5 minutes every hour
  • Consider what you’re eating before you eat it
  • Drink a full glass of water before meals to curb your appetite
  • Use a smaller plate at dinner
